An integrated steelworks energy modelEnergy and Coke Department, Teesside Laboratories, British Steel Corporation
Energy and Coke Department, Teesside Laboratories, British Steel Corporation This model enables the quantity of each form of energy used or produced within the steelworks to be calculated. A simple model of each of the main operating areas of the works has been devised enabling the quantities of each of the fuels used or produced in that area to be calculated for any given operating conditions. The total quantity of any form of energy utilised within the works can be found, for any given sequence of operating conditions, by summing the quantities produced or consumed in each unit operation and relating all quantities to the production of one tonne of liquid steel. The main emphasis in this study has been concentrated on the processes up to and including steel production.
